Splendid shots!
- Auroral Activity Extrapolated
from NOAA POES Real time images. Amazing.
- Auroral Sounds. There is
no accepted theory which can substantiate, or explain, the crackling, rustling,
and swishing sounds sometimes reported in connection with auroras. This site describes
the reported sounds and introduces some of the most popular theories applied to them.

- Stephen P. McGreevy's Ground-based
ELF-VLF Recordings [Made during Auroral Activity] "Natural Radio" describes naturally-occurring
electromagnetic (radio) signals emanating from lightning storms, aurora (The Northern
and Southern Lights), and most importantly, the Earth's magnetic-field (the
Magnetosphere). This is a presentation of Earth's natural radio emissions that occur in
the extremely-low-frequency to very-low-frequency (ELF-VLF) radio spectrum - specifically,
at AUDIO frequencies between approximately 100 to 10,000 cycles-per second (0.1 - 10 kHz).
The radio signals have been converted to audio signals and are here presented as WAV files.
- Th. Ulich: Pictures of the Northern Lights/
Aurora Borealis An excellent aurora site from Thomas Ulich of the Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory
at the University of Oulu, Finland.

Ecological Reserve [The]
Fortune Head is a significant Newfoundland fossil site. But,
don't be fooled by the fish and trilobite fossils illustrated; they are just page
decoration - not features of the Fortune Head site! Overall, an excellent student page.

Stromatolites, thrombolites, and patch reefs. Photos. Mostly from
Newfoundland.
- Thrombolites, Flower's Cove,
Newfoundland
Not exactly fossils. Thrombolites are sedimentary structures built up by
cyanobacterial or algal mats through the secretion of calcium carbonate and the trapping of
sediments. The Flower's Cove examples are from the Cambrian. [Archived copy. Images don't work. SLOW.]
